East Gate Farm

Andrea Oosterhof is probably one of the coolest women I have met since moving to Edmonton. Ok, I know I say that a lot, but when you find out a little more about the Oosterhof family, I’m sure you will agree.

Andrea and her husband Ben, along with their three ridiculously cute children, run East Gate Farm. The farm is located Southeast of Edmonton, so you will usually find Andrea in the summer slinging her goods at South side farmers markets. Along with eggs and lamb they also have an apiary and flower farm. I have been on the receiving end of Andrea’s flower subscriptions for the past two years and let me tell you there is nothing like have fresh seasonal flowers in your kitchen all summer.

The Oosterhof family is also involved in “Love Kitchen,” providing ingredients and helping hands to a little mission that uses up food (that would be wasted) and cooks it into delicious healthy meals for families in need. What a beautiful picture of community! Photographing this family was just the best! If you know me, you know I love to learn about where our food comes from and both Andrea and Ben were so great about answering my million questions about farm life. But also, I got to hang out with goats…

So yeah, pretty great time!
